New Lady Captain's Drive-in on Tuesday 8th October 2024
Our new lady Captain Jane (Redcoat) Hobbs held her drive-in, a 9-hole shotgun competition on Tuesday 8th October 2024. It was well attended with 13 teams of 4 players (52 in total) and the weather held out long enough for everyone to get around dry. The Winning team, was Amanda Lyth, Jane Parkin, Diane Hurdley & Jenny Kentish with 45 points. Emer Carr guessed the Captain's Drive correctly at 144 yards and Elaine Downes was nearest the pin on 5th hole. This was followed by a lovely light lunch for playing and non-playing ladies to get together and catch up and socialise. A great start to Jane's Captaincy.

Despite some very tough weather conditions on the day the matches were hard fought and the result of a loss 5 to 2. It was however much closer that the result depicted with 4 matches going to the 18th hole , one win and two halved matches.
It was an incredible experience for all Copt Heath ladies who played in this competition and as a result of our endeavours Copt Heath will be receiving additional funds to support our juniors. Well done to all the Copt Heath Ladies who took part in this competition. A special mention to Caroline Walker our team Captain, who organised and supported us all throughout and we could not have done it without her
