COPT HEATH SENIORS
Autumn Away Day report
23rd October 2024 at Willesley Park Golf Club
The Willesley Park Golf Course was looking in great condition, however, the trees were determined to drop all their leaves on to the course. Despite the green staff continuing to blow the leaves from the greens and the leaf collection machinery travelling the fairways, it was a constant battle to find the balls. We were advised by the Pro that the secret to a low round was to keep it on the fairway. He was right and it was quite a challenge.
The early mist disappeared whilst we were eating our bacon baps and the weather improved, with occasional blue sky, sunshine and light winds. Competition was tight for both the individual and team prizes. Following the excellent early evening meal the newly elected Seniors Section Captain Stuart Durk thanked the players for attending and the Golf Club staff who made us feel most welcome. The prizegiving commenced and the golfer of the day was Matt McKenning, winning the overall Seniors Autumn Away Day champion prize, plus team and spot prizes.
