Mixed Match Report for Copt Heath Vs Edgbaston 16th July 2023

The club’s third fixture saw Copt Heath travel to Edgbaston Golf Club on a July afternoon where the heavens decided to get us all soaked before we commenced play!

There is a fine line between being keen and being mad but after a 20-minute delay, we all got started to a mixture of sunshine and showers. We were pleased that we got the fixture up and running and the course was playable.

To quote a football term, the results came in in two halves. The first three matches all won. So, congratulations to Angela Roberts and Mark Woolford, Scott Fyfe and Pat Rees, Mark & Jo Hunt.

The last three matches all lost, so we were waiting on the final match with Rob Russell and Lis Wilkins.

I am glad to say that they drew their match, so the overall result was a draw. Having said that, don’t away points count double?!

My thanks go to the members who answered my call to support these mixed matches and were playing for the first time, this year. These members are Angela Roberts, Elaine Downes, Graham Wright, Kate Bradley, Scott Fyfe, Sue Walker, John Nosworthy and Lis Wilkin.

Our next fixture is at home versus Robin Hood Golf Club on 30th July.
