Mixed Match v Northamptonshire County

In Mark’s first match as organiser, I am please to announce the result was 5 – 1 win for Copt Heath!

The day started with some M6 traffic issues for the away team but we all managed to sit down for Brunch more or less on time.

The first four matches went wins our way. The team had a blend of youth, in Gia Rhodes and Alfie Hunt and experience in the remaining squad. Alfie was playing in his first mixed match. So, hopefully, starting off with a win will get him hooked into the fun of mixed golf!

Other wins came from the pairings of Mark Woolford & Trish Grant, Steve & Jenny Kentish and Jo & Mark Hunt.

The tail order looked like it was going Northamptonshire’s way. There was some spirited defence with Rob Russell and Sue Pearce, together with Peter Turle and Lynda Webb gaining useful halves on the last hole.

Thank you all for taking part on such a lovely day. Northamptonshire County are a delight to play against and we look forward to next year’s fixture at their place.
