Junior Section

Our thriving Junior section enjoy a great deal of fun golfing activity during the year.  Our more competitive young golfers also enjoy playing in the many club competitions (for all levels) and even Junior matches against other local clubs.  If you would like to enquire about becoming a Junior Member (U18 years on April 1st) we would be pleased to hear from you or your parents by first contacting our Secretary on 01564 731620 (option 1).

Golf Academy

Neil Sykes our assistant professional runs classes for young golfers of all abilities and ages, both at weekends throughout the whole year and during school holidays.  Neil takes pride in developing budding golfers from the basics through all aspects of the game many of whom have developed their talents to become highly accomplished golfers.  To find out more, Neil is available in our Pro Shop on 01564 731620 (option 5).

In order to promote and raise the standard and profile of Junior Golf, Copt Heath Golf Club commits to... 

• Promote junior golf within the golf club

• Provide a recognised junior section

• Provide a welcoming environment

• Adopt EGU/ELGA Child Protection Guidelines

• Provide access to a junior coaching system

• Maintain accurate records for each junior member

• Provide regular junior competitions

• Minimise the constraints regarding times of play

• Provide the opportunity to play with our best players

Juniors will commit to...

• Attend basic teaching/coaching sessions

• Adhere to club rules on and off the course

• Participate in a minimum of 3 Club Competitions per year

• Read and follow the guidelines in R & A Golf Rules in brief

• Help to promote Junior Golf at Copt Heath

• Play with other Juniors in the Club

• Getting a recognised CONGU handicap

• Caddie for our better players in 1 or 2 competitions
